How come we all want surround sound when we watch movies to get the real effects but it just isn’t the same when you are trying to relax with some piece and your other child is blaring the speakers.  And it’s 3 levels below your bedroom.  Arggg…..  oh well.  Better home that out doing crazy things.

I think I mentioned I was going to the iStand Youth Summit today (yesterday if your read this tomorrow).  It was a great event.  Nice to see all the kids there.  The twitter link is https://twitter.com/i/connect .  On Facebook it is https://twitter.com/i/connect.  There were about 100 youth attending.  I met a few that had known Amanda and had gone to school with her.  Yes, I shed a tear or two.  One workshop that I attended was a young lady who told her story about depression, anxiety, suicide attempts and bullying.  It was hauntingly similar to Amanda’s story.  The good thing is that while on her last attempt, this girl was writing a letter to her parents to say good-bye but halfway through, decided it wasn’t the right choice.  So help came in time.  I am so happy for her and her parents.

Did anyone see the National Conference of Girls & Bullying in Las Vegas at the end of June?  I am so interested in going.

Another thing, if you want some reading to do, go read some of the comments in the Reflections tab.  So cool to other points of view from the other end of Canada.  It’s so nice to see that thoughts can be changed and differences can be made.

Thank you to all those who have helped to make changes happen even if you had never met Amanda.  xoxo

In no way was I trying to apply any kind of pressure. I think Carol has enough of that on her shoulders already. i was just worried about her and just trying to make sure she was ok! I am actually amazed that she has any time for this. It’s nice that you all try to protect her! Yes we all care about you Carol!!! very much so !! ❤ peace and love

  5. I do love all your comments and all your caring. Sometimes words come at the weirdest times but I’m not around anything to write them down and and I don’t want to tap type into my iPhone. Yes I agree, a holiday would be nice and I have lost count on the number of people who keep telling me this. But in life’s realities, it is not always possible. Let’s call it post secondary syndrome for now. I am thinking that I want to attend the Girls + Bullying conference at the end of June in Vegas. Would love if more people went that I knew. Thank you all for caring about me. Today is not as cloudy. There have been peeks of sunshine.

Backing you up on this one,la Punisher. It was a harmless query by a guest, but the result is the same.Demand equals pressure. It was not that long ago Carol mentioned a need to get away.We all did not come up with anything to fulfill her quiet request.Does not anybody have a cottage to share just for her for a weekend?Maybe even a place down South,in warmer climes?.So she remains to put a handle on the current issues, all the while dealing with the frictions of the day.No respite for her.Amanda gave of herself, while suffering, for the good of all.Carol continues with her daughter’s legacy, but she does not complain about her newly borne burdens.I love being invited into Carol’s virtual living- room. She is a gracious and generous host. But as a guest,I have to remind myself why I am there, and maybe, what can I give back to this exceptional Family who puts others needs first above their own.I leave you all with this sentiment to ponder.

Hi Savetheworld: Please don’t take offense, But…you know I’m with you on the “no blog thing” I love reading them with my morning coffee…But at the same time, Carol has been working overtime on what she is doing for her daughter, She totally deserves a break without being questioned about it….Let’s just pat her on the back and tell her “its great your taking a break” Hugz 2u Carol

I really appreciate reading your comment la Punisher, very good points you brought up in there as well. @Savetheworld the Reflections tab is at the top of the page (on my screen) it is right between ‘pictures’ and ‘related projects’. Also another Reflections tab on the Amanda Todd Legacy home page. I hope i was helpful 🙂

“Thank you to all those who have helped to make changes happen even if you had never met Amanda.” Thank you Amanda for inspiring me and so many others to remember what we were put on this earth for…to be kind and caring to anyone who needs it. To never turn our backs on someone who just needs comfort in any form, and to never make fun or light of someone else’s plight…whatever that may be.

Ah,the good old day’s.Mom and Dad leave the house to go shopping.Their not half way down the street, when my favourite C.D. is loaded in the player, and I do a test to see how far I can crank the amplifier.Minutes later,Mom comes in the basement, with that “look” on her face. She forgot her purse…..I wonder if Amanda would say”what’s all the noise?”…….

Yeah that sounds about right! I was a teen with an electric bass and a huge love for LOUD music. Music was my main weapon if i felt the teenage urge to irritate or aggravate my household if i didn’t get my way. Its a good question, why are teens like that? I remember being told to “turn it down!!!” while playing my bass and for some reason id would (just for spite) turn the volume down but boost up the Bass frequencies so then the place is just vibrating. In a sense i did turn it down! lol
