I didn’t know that this Word Press blog could go to the articles that I have posted on Tumblr, etc. It has been an interesting media day.
The articles are endless. They are very interesting to read and when I see them, I want to share them with everyone. It is part of the educating process of Amanda’s Legacy. Making sure that the access is on my FB, Tumblr, Twitter is mind boggling. Checking and rechecking. I have almost developed a system.
The other thing I did tonight was talk to some of Amanda’s friends on iMessage. They miss her so much (just like me). Many of us as adults, can’t imagine the loss of a child. I can’t imagine how teenagers feel when they lose a friend. The thoughts that run through their heads. Just like me as a parent. What if …. Could I have …. Would it …
It must be so hard as a young person to lose a friend in the years when you are just trying to piece together your own life and what it means to be a teenager. And some in my community have lost more than one friend in the same year. This isn’t how it’s supposed to be. Those kids have learned huge lessons and have felt a heartache that they weren’t really supposed to feel. At that age, death is supposed to come in the form of a goldfish dying or maybe a hamster or gerbil. Not friends.
So to all the young people out there, embrace your friendships. If you someone out there being harassed, help them by showing your support. Don’t walk away. Don’t give up. Stand with them.
Remember that when the battles are fought and won, it is the masses of individuals that build the wall for the army.
I am going to Challenge Day in Port Coquitlam tomorrow. This means an early morning. Challenge Day is 6 1/2 hours long per day. It will be in PoCo for 3 days. I am so looking forward to it.
So then … time for bed. xoxo
