April 2 – In Victoria BC to meet ….

11:59 pm – I didn’t realize how tired I was but it was a mind boggling day.  Didn’t mean to cry in the meeting when I was talking about Amanda’s story but I did.  That would be partly from looking at the pic of her and I.  It always triggers alot of emotion for me.  I have spent lots of these past few days thinking and talking about her.  Never mind that being in Victoria kind of ‘creeps’ me out.  Don’t get me wrong, it’s not about the people I know here now.  I grew up here for the first 5 years of my life.  It wasn’t always the best five years.  As I have said before, I have a very strong visual memory which in effect, can be quite damaging.  There might be some PTSD coming from my childhood.  I saw buildings and parks that I recollect from childhood.  The hospital where my adopted mother passed away.  Beaconhill Park where I used to play and look at the peacocks.  The church on the main strip where I had to go to church and where my adopted mother’s funeral was.  My emotions at age 4 at the funeral is what I remember clearly.  Argg..

The articles came out about todays events and meetings.  The media chose to use me and Amanda as bylines.  I don’t want it to take away from what the Bradley’s have done and all their hard work.  I will continue to fight the fight for Amanda and all the other kids that need help.

Someone I knew told me a real neat story.  She was having a challenging day with her kids today.  When she reached into her binder pocket and out came a snowflake.  It calmed her down.  How neat was that!!

Oh, that FB post from Amanda’s ghost is still there.  What to do to get it down?  Maybe I should invite the ghost to tea.

Going to bed or at least to ease the brain and play Candy Crush.  I have levels to beat and people to pass!!  Yahoo…

Love you all… xoxo  (Back home tomorrow to see my new Snowflake garden.)

5:03 pm – The meeting went real well with the Health Minister and all the other govt personnel that were there.  They said they would work on emergency care and making sure that there was psychiatric support in the ER at hospitals for crisis support.

Last night – I arrived in Victoria to sunshine and warmth. From both the friends and people that I met tonight.  The Bradley family has a story.  Here are some links:

We are supposed to be attending a meeting tomorrow at the legislature building with the Health Minister Margaret McDiarmid at 1 pm.  However, I have heard that she is unable to attend personally and it will be done via teleconference.  Someone said she might be in Vancouver. Hmmm…. I could have/should have stayed at  home and then gone to where she was.  Darn….

Meeting the Kelly and Owen Bradley and Barb Kozeletski was great.  Families with the same passion I have … to make change.

I will write more tomorrow.  It’s an early morning and we know how I don’t like to sleep. Yikes!!!

Here are two pictures I took on the ferry. It was so weird that the sun came out purply pink.  Was that Princess Snowflake turning into Princess Sunshine in her own variant of colours.  Hmm…

Tried to find a way to get into the facebook account of the person who put up Amanda Todd’s ghost, but the person left nothing like a email address or any info and without an email I can’t get into face books database to get the password, he also didn’t leave any info on himself, I don’t think he cares about it,he last was at that page on Feb.3-13, he opened it on January 7 2012 which means he has another account, no friends and only his likes,I sent him an email to ask him to remove it, If he answeres back I may be able to get some info on him I am trying to find that other account, If I find it , Than will remove the Amanda page, I had converse with face book, but they refuse to remove it..A-holes, If I get the opportune I will…. Justice must be served.

Hugz 2U Carol, Hope you had a great day

They actually refused to remove offensive comments about a person that has passed away? Incredible……

Your advocacy has made you strong, I admire the way you are so sanguine when you encounter these disturbing Facebook posts (not seen it myself, because I am not on FB, but a few glimpses I have had tell me Amanda has to have been a very strong person!)There was a time when people believed “If you don’t have anything nice to say about a person, don’t say anything at all”. What happened to that philosophy?

On a more positive note, Carol I think you are the right person to bring notice to pressing concerns of today like welfare of youth, because you have the energy and the passion. Keep it up!

That ‘Fakebook’ post was disturbing, I was appalled!!! I scoff at how it’s called ‘social media’ when it really should be called, ‘anti-social media.’ This has to be kids, who don’t know any better, spewing this malicious venom, no? I feel sorry for the parents of these kids. Are they proud parents, I wonder? Do these parents even know what their kids are up to on-line? This ‘anti-social media’, is relatively new to me and I’m not sure I want to continue to stay connected to it. It’s been an eye opening experience, to say the least and I now have a better idea of what Amamda may have been going through. I sigh with disgust. 😦
Fight the good fight, Carol. We’re proud of you and I wish you all the best in this struggle.

Stick with it Niall. I felt the same when I first came onto facebook. I’ve gone through a real learning curve as well.

There are good groups such as Amanda Todd Reporting Team & United against facebook Trolls & stalkers which you can join & help report these horrid pages. I find it theraputic doing this. In meantime I hope EVERYONE reported that fake profile?

United against RIP Trolls & Cyberbullies is the correct name. There is also Abuse Reporting Center (which is the sister page of Amanda Todd Reporting Team) All good pages who work tirelessly to rid facebook of these types of pages & fake accounts.

O yeah… Try the $35.00 cup of tea at the Empress Hotel, But let me tell ya, the only part of it that impressed me was when I got the bill for $35. for a cup of tea and a biscuit… Talk about the cost of living hehe 🙂
